How to choose the right suit for your little boy...

Choosing the right suit for a boy can be tough. There are so many different styles and colors to choose from! Help!!

The first thing that you should consider is the occasion - what event are they attending? Is it a wedding, prom, or communion? Will they be wearing a tie or bowtie? Is it summer or winter, in Florida or

Michigan? What color should their suit be? If you know all this, then the task will be a bit easier.

You will also want to consider the age of your child, and whether comfort is more important than style. Toddlers and infants will need something that has elastic in the waistband so they can move around easily without being restricted by buttons or zippers while they explore their surroundings. How tall are they, and what is their waist size? Will a slim, regular, or husky fit be needed?

Kids suits aren’t custom made, and no two boys (apart from identical twins) are alike, so compromises usually have to be made with the fit, although alterations are an option.

The color of the suit will depend on what type of event it is. For example, if it's an informal event like prom then you could go with something bright and colorful, something to make them stand out among their peers, or maybe they want to blend in with a regular navy suit. However, if it's a formal occasion then you should probably go with something black or dark colored, or maybe even a boys tuxedo, or tuxedo style suit. First Communions tend to be that bit easier, and will often require a white outfit or suit, although some allow khaki or beige pants with a darker jacket as an alternative.

If your boy is a ring bearer, you will want to find a boys wedding suit that matches, or compliments the bride and grooms attire. If you can provide a sample, link or photo of the grooms suit, we can certainly recommend our nearest match.

You may also have a toddler or infant who is attending a formal event, but who doesn’t need to wear anything fancy like a suit or tux, yet it's still important for them to look nice too! Suspenders outfits often work great for these circumstances, and the outfits usually include shorts, or loose pants, a shirt with suspenders and a tie or bowtie.

The material may be important to you for the comfort of your child. If the weather is hot, a linen suit, or even shorts may be an option, but if the event is in the winter of Michigan, then maybe a suit with a wool composite would keep the little one a bit warmer.
